Welcome to Minnesota Neighbors for Peace!

Can something good grow in the ashes of war? Yes!

People across the country have responded to the war and occupation of Iraq by uniting with others in their neighborhoods and towns in unprecedented numbers to work for peace and justice. The desire to cultivate peace, human rights, social and economic justice, civil liberties, and environmental responsibility throughout the world is now stronger than ever! Meeting and working with our neighbors on our shared visions for the future has strengthened our communities and empowered us to work together toward a brighter tomorrow for our neighborhoods, cities or towns, state, country, and world.

How do I join Minnesota Neighbors for Peace?

Minnesota Neighbors for Peace does not exist as its own organization but as a cooperative network of like-minded people working together in our individual communities. In addition to active Neighbors for Peace-ers, lots of other people display our yard signs to show their support for community-based peace and justice causes — and, if we can say so ourselves, because it is one of the most attractive yard signs available. The projects and flavor of each group are as different as the people and communities that make them up. But various Minnesota Neighbors for Peace organizations — especially those in the same vicinity — often cooperate on projects and events.

We encourage you to join or start a Minnesota Neighbors for Peace group in your area!
